The IBMA Songwriter Showcase is one of the most anticipated events at the IBMA Business Conference, offering a spotlight on exceptional original songwriting. Each year, ten standout songs are selected, and their writers take the stage to perform for an audience of top bluegrass artists, producers, and fans.

This showcase is a celebration of creativity and talent, giving attendees the chance to hear fresh, original music before anyone else.

Application Details

Eligibility & Submission Details:

  • IBMA membership is not required to apply.
  • Applicants must be willing to perform their selected song live.
  • Each applicant may submit one song per entry, with a maximum of two entries.
  • There is no application fee.
  • All participants must register for the IBMA Business Conference (at their own expense) for at least the day of the showcase.

Application Process

Up to 10 songwriters (or songwriting teams) will be invited to showcase. Songs are chosen through a juried selection process that takes into consideration the applicant’s quality of work and appeal to bluegrass audiences. The applicant does NOT have to be an IBMA member, but they MUST be willing to perform the song live. In addition to general information, the following materials will be needed to complete the application:

  • Name, email, hi-res photo (at least 150 dpi), and bio of each songwriter credited on the song
  • One demo recording of the song (mp3 format only)
  • Lyrics for the song (PDF only)
